The LIFE Program at NorthWest Arkansas Community College is a near-peer mentoring and empowerment program that partners NWACC student LIFE Mentors with area high school students who may not have considered college to be an opportunity open to them or can benefit from this connection to make the transition to college after graduation. LIFE stands for Learning, Improvement, Fun, and Empowerment; four words that describe the mission of the program. Among the program’s activities are a three-day summer program that brings scores of high school students and recent high school grads to the NWACC campus for a series of fun events, motivational lessons and activities that prepare students to apply for admission to college.

One major obstacle students encounter is a lack of funds to pay tuition. It is an important part of LIFE to help provide scholarship opportunities to attendees. The funds are made available to offer these scholarships by generous donors, past LIFE Mentors, and volunteering in community events.

Drive with Care is a local, 100% volunteer organization created to promote safety & educate drivers to be aware of our active community of pedestrians, runners, cyclists, and kids on or near roadways throughout Northwest Arkansas.  Created in response to the death of a local runner in a crosswalk on the Arkansas Greenway, Drive with Care’s mission is to build awareness in our increasingly congested communities. We educate through simple marketing strategies, signage, car decals, apparel and grass roots PR.

We strive to create relationships with local municipalities to partner on investments in improved roadway signage, crosswalk enhancements, and other safety measures.  Our fundraising efforts focus on local race proceeds, annual social events, and citizen outreach.  We are committed to making Northwest Arkansas the safest it can be for all that use its roadways.

Rampy MS Research Foundation.
We advance MS research. In the process, we bring encouragement to the MS community and beyond. Our foundation hosts four programs: the MS Research Symposium, Team Endurance for MS, the Trifest for MS, and a 6-week triathlon training Series. Our beneficiary is the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences (UAMS).
We committed to donating $250,000 over five years to the MS research team at UAMS. As a result of 2016’s programming, we will contribute $70,000 to UAMS in 2017. This marks our fifth contribution to the UAMS MS researchers and achieves our goal of raising $250,000 to aid their efforts.
